The ArtsLink database
The Artslink Network website was set up in April 2007 to support and promote creative companies and freelancers in Leicestershire and Rutland who run workshops and participatory arts activities. very berry became the ArtsLink Project Co-ordinator which involved styling the website and promoting the free database to artists who would then register on the site.
We then attended events to market ArtsLink and attracted teachers, youth workers and community groups to visit the site if they were looking for a particular art form or artist to work with them. During Autumn 2007 very berry designed an ArtsLink brochure which has now been distributed throughout schools, the youth service, venues, galleries and museums throughout Leicestershire and Rutland.
Peterborough Festival
During June 2007 very berry worked alongside arts consultant Mary Harris to provide arts activities and workshops at the Peterborough Festival. We worked with graffiti artists LML Paint Team, storyteller Chris Tresize and youth groups in Peterborough to create murals and boards which were installed in the park before the festival weekend. The theme, 'Myths and Legends' was carried throughout the project and culminated in a storytelling workshop about George and the Dragon at the festival.
During March 2008 very berry worked on the promotional concept for an ambitious Dance4Health project, which included the design of a logo, strapline and publicity tailored to each dance style. The project was supported by research work and PR which has lead to a very well attended Integrated Dance Awareness Day in North Warwickshire and another in Stratford.
Hinckley Library Gallery
very berry has rebranded the Hinckley Library Gallery and has been curating the exhibitions for the last year. A new logo has been designed and posters, preview cards and promotional material has been created to advertise exhibitions, artist talks and workshops. We were responsible for booking and liasing with the artists, helping to install the work and promoting each exhibition with the local and regional press and also the upkeep of the website The gallery now has a growing reputation with an ever growing list of artists wanting to exhibit.
